Our weekly "Double Trouble" nights feature two separate rooms with different music: a "vintage hall" with swing music for Lindy Hop, Balboa, East Coast Swing and Shag, and a separate "Westie Lounge" featuring blues and contemporary music for West Coast Swing and Hustle.

- Mobster's Ball and Canadian Shag Dance Championships (Saturday, February 18th 2012, 8:15pm-1:00am) The Mobster's Ball is our special gangster-themed soiree, and a part of our Shag Explosion swing dancing weekend! Shag was a swing dance popular in the 20's and 30's, during the height of the mobster era and before Lindy Hop came to fame. Several very different styles of Shag are still done today! Featuring a WCS lesson at 8:15 as well as our usual beginner swing lesson! More on Mobster's Ball and Canadian Shag Dance Championships here!

Holiday BONUS Dance
(Sunday, December 23rd 2012, 7:00pm-12:00am)
What's better than an annual Xmas BONUS? Since it just seemed WRONG not to have any Swing dancing on the weekend of Christmas, we've decided to put together a special last Holiday dance (with some classes too) on a Friday night! We've also got a bit of a crossover theme for the end of the year: "It's all swing!"
SCHEDULE:
7pm-8pm: Easy crossover moves for Lindy/WCS! Learn moves that work well in both styles of dance. *Price: $15 ($10 students/seniors) and includes the Shim Sham class and dance after!
8pm-9pm: The Shim Sham. Not only did Frankie Manning of Lindy Hop fame teach this dance choreography around the world, but internationally renowned WCS teacher Skippy Blair has said that every West Coast Swing dancer should learn the Shim Sham. *Price: $5, includes the dance after!
9pm-12am: Dancing until midnight! We'll play a mix of swing, blues and modern songs to appeal to all tastes and styles of swing!

In order to keep the dance floors perfect for dancing, please bring dance shoes, or simply an extra dry pair of shoes to dance in when you come swing dancing!

This Ottawa swing dance night is a weekly event - come swing dance with us every Saturday night! Complete beginners welcome!
Ottawa's Saturday Night Swing dance features great jazz and blues music for all styles of swing dancing, and frequent special events. Whether you're a total beginner, or if you enjoy Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Balboa, Shag or even Blues dancing, you'll love the great swing music and the fun people!
